My Directing Reel

As a director

I strive to think beyond the confines of conventional theatre standards, analyzing how an ensemble and an audience might interpret a story in a new way. My mission as a director is not to prescribe but to stimulate the ensemble to make their own decisions from a place of true human impulse. Using Chekhov's etudes as a jumping-off point for my directorial standards, I look for the emotional maturity that actors can develop within their characters in order to invite an audience to experience not just a world but a feeling as well. This fascination, alongside my training in devising, allows for a room of creatives rather than a director and a cast.
